At HFN Lab, a highly collaborative Research Lab located at West Virginia University, Morgantown. We are interested in various concepts and ideas, including patient safety, clinical decision-making, trust in artificial intelligence, and mobile health technologies. Our research implements the science of human factors & neuro-ergonomics to integrate artificial intelligence into clinical workflow. The focus of HFN lab extends beyond the algorithmic performance of AI & strives towards humanizing the technology to foster better usability, adoption, and satisfaction.

Avishek Choudhury

Dr. Avishek Choudhury (Ph.D)

Dr. Avishek Choudhury is an Assistant Professor in the Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department and director of the Occupational Safety and Health Doctoral Program at West Virginia University. He received his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in 2022 and his master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering program from Texas Tech University. He is also a recipient of the Paul Kaplan Award, the Fabrycky-Blanchard Award, and the Excellence Doctoral Fellowship for exemplary academic performance, excellence in research, and promise in the study and practice of systems engineering. His research interests include patient safety, artificial intelligence, cognitive ergonomics, and clinical decision-making.
